Miguel Cabrera loses first base eligibility on Yahoo!

With the start of spring training just days away, the beginning of a new season of fantasy baseball is upon us.

The much anticipated return of Yahoo! fantasy baseball has arrived.

New features include continuous waivers, new pitching stats (saves + holds) (Net saves + holds: saves + holds - blown saves) and an improved app for iPhone and Android , which comes in handy more than you realize all season.

Something that I noticed in the early going after looking through the players is the first base eligibility for Miguel Cabrera has been eliminated in Yahoo! This season, he's just listed as a third baseman.

You almost knew this was going to happen after playing only two games at first in 2012 compared to 154 at third base. I believe you must play at least 10 games to keep the eligibility at a position, so failing to do so may change your drafting plans a bit.

Cabrera, who is in the same conversation with Mike Trout for the first overall pick in 2013, is now in competition with the likes of Adrian Beltre, Evan Longoria and David Wright at third for the coming season.

Obviously having Cabrera is a good thing offensively. The Triple Crown winner hit .330 with 44 home runs and 139 with 109 runs scored. The difference this year with Cabrera is the fact you can now have Cabrera and possibly Prince Fielder or Mark Teixeira on your squad if the pool you're in allows one player for each position.
