Ex-Jays on Photo Day

Aaron Laffey

With spring games now underway, here's a quick review of some of the new homes for some former Blue Jays.

From a fantasy perspective, most of these guys can be looked as players you may want near the end of your drafts.

Travis d'Arnaud
d'Arnaud will likely be called up in June, but you may want him try and draft him in the last round of your draft. He would be a good pick in a keeper league as well.

Vernon Wells
Wells will likely begin the season as the fourth outfielder for the Angels, so he's probably a guy to watch down the road on the wire.

John Farrell
I know you can't draft him....but..

Shaun Marcum
Marcum will likely be the fourth man in the Mets rotation, and if can pitch like he did in his first year in Milwaukee and two years in Toronto, he may just be a late round steal for you.

Jeff Mathis
Mathis will not likely be a guy to draft or watch on the wire, but I had to include him in the mix here as a reminder to the fans that he was involved in the Jays Marlins blockbuster.

Lyle Overbay

Overbay is looking to secure a spot on the Red Sox roster in 2013, but the addition of Mike Carp from the Mariners might put a damper on that plan. He may still end up as the starter in Milwaukee, so watch those developments over the spring.

Jake Marisnick
Marisnick will start in the minors, but he can hit, so monitor him if he's called up.

Yunel Escobar
Escobar goes from Toronto to Miami to Tampa Bay in a matter of months, but nothing really changes as far as fantasy goes.

Expect a .260 average, ten home runs and around 60 RBI. A good back up if you run into injuries with your starting shortstop.
