Predicted Texas Rangers roster includes two Blue Jays
I don't usually read the Dallas Morning News, although I did recently after I noticed 24 interesting photos on their site.
Evan Grant decided to predict the Texas Rangers opening day roster for 2013, and included in that list was a big name free agent and two current Blue Jays.
Here are Grant's predictions for the 2013 version of the Texas Rangers come opening day.
Zack Greinke - he must get 6 years and $150 million you would think
Yu Darvish - we know he's not going anywhere
Matt Harrison - Rangers talking about an extension as well
Ricky Romero - wait, what? a trade?
Derek Holland - solid #3 starter
Joe Nathan - every team needs a closer still, don't they?
Tanner Scheppers - reliever
Mike Adams - can hopefully return healthy
Alexi Ogando - looks like a may pitch in relief?
Michael Kirkman - another reliever
Neftali Feliz - can hopefully regain form after missing half of 2012
J.P. Arencibia - um..he's still on the Jays, so another deal in the works?
Kelly Shoppach - someone has to replace Napoli
Mitch Moreland - looks like he playing first
Jurickson Profar - second base looks like his new position
Elvis Andrus - still the shortstop of the future?
Adrian Beltre - did receive 1 2nd place vote on AL MVP ballot
Michael Young - feels like he was never a Blue Jays prospect
Ryan Theriot - looks to bring playoff experience to clubhouse
Nick Swisher - so no Hamilton I guess
Craig Gentry - fast!
Nelson Cruz - if he stays healthy one day he could hit 50 HR's
David Murphy - solid hitter
Notes: so one notable omission from this list is second baseman Ian Kinsler, who most likely gets dealt to the Toronto Blue Jays for Romero and Arencibia. Josh Hamilton is replaced by Nick Swisher, and the team adds depth in Theroit and Shoppach.
What does Grant know that we don't? We shall soon find out!
