Countdown to the trade deadline: Day 25

The Cliff Lee saga will hopefully end soon with the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, Reds, Twins and the Rays in hot pursuit.  The Twins are the only team to make an offer, according to reports, but the Rays are close to making an announcement, and all reports are leading to Upton being the man to go for a pitcher.

The Brewers have not made a decision yet on their season, and if it's over.  If they decide soon, Corey Hart will be the first to go, and the Giants will give them some good pieces in return.

The Cubs have been to quiet for a team that is all but out of the NL Central race.  Derrek Lee might be on the move to the Angels before we know it.

A deal will be made by the end of the day, possibly Lee to the Rays.

*New* Update:

First trade of July was minor, but the Pirates acquired pitcher Sean Gallagher from the Padres for a player to be named later.  Gallagher has pitched in 60 career major league games and has a 5.57 career ERA.

Adam Dunn hit 3 home runs Wednesday night, and the White Sox are ready to make the move.

The Indians have not fielded to many calls for closer Kerry Wood, but will be hoping to deal him soon and possibly pay some of the remaining salry as well.

The Phillies feel that adding a starter will help in the quest now to overtake the Mets and Braves in the NL East.  Could Oswalt be a fit?
